In a recent development in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Russian forces have successfully repelled an attack by the 67th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the village of Klescheevka, Donetsk People’s Republic. The attack was met with resistance from the Southern Group of Russian troops, who were supported by artillery and heavy flamethrower systems.
Russian military units also inflicted damage on the 28th and 30th Mechanized Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Vysyukovka and Kurdyumovka, respectively, in the Donetsk region.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian forces suffered significant losses, with over 130 servicemen, two infantry fighting vehicles, and three vehicles being destroyed. In a successful counter-battery operation, Russian forces managed to disable two “MSTA-B” howitzers, a self-propelled artillery installation known as “Gvozdika,” and a D-30 gun.
This comes after the Russian Ministry of Defense reported repelling six separate attacks by Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region within a 24-hour period. The Ukrainian side reportedly lost over 240 soldiers in these clashes.
Prior to this incident, Ukraine had outlined its conditions for conducting negotiations with Russia in an attempt to find a resolution to the ongoing conflict.
