Russian attack helicopters from the Central Military District have successfully destroyed a long-standing Ukrainian military outpost in the Krasnolimansk direction, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The pilots flew at an extremely low altitude and launched strikes using 80-millimeter unguided aviation rockets. Advanced aviation observers and unmanned aerial vehicles provided target acquisition and fire correction. The ministry highlighted that the helicopters executed the strike from a higher altitude, allowing the missiles to increase their flight range without entering the enemy’s air defense zone. The “Vitebsk” helicopter defense complex is currently being upgraded based on experience from special military operations, while the first Checkmate fighters are expected to be deployed by 2025. This incident adds to the ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, further escalating the conflict.
