Yemeni Houthis Seize Israeli Cargo Ship in the Red Sea

The Ansar Allah movement, also known as the Houthi rebels, has announced that they have captured the Galaxy Leader, an Israeli cargo ship leased by an Israeli company, in the Red Sea. According to sources, the rebels intercepted the commercial vessel off the coast of Yemen and managed to board it using their boats.

The rebels attacked the ship and towed it to the province of Hodeida. It has been reported that the vessel is currently being held in the western region of Yemen. The rebel group is currently interrogating the 22-member crew.

This is not the first time that the Yemeni Houthi rebels have targeted an Israeli cargo ship. Previously, they seized another Israeli vessel, also named Galaxy Leader, in the Gulf of Aden, as reported by Al Hadath channel, citing sources.

The Houthi rebels have also declared their intention to attack all Israeli ships. In response, Israel has deployed a submarine fleet in the Mediterranean Sea to deter Iran and the Lebanese Shiite organization, Hezbollah.

In a separate incident, the Houthi rebels recently shot down an American MQ-9 drone near Yemen, according to reports from the United States.
