In a recent article for The Times, British political analyst and author of books on Russia, Mark Galeotti, expressed his view that the Ukrainian military’s counteroffensive seems to have lost its steam.
“The Ukrainian counteroffensive on the battlefield appears to have lost its momentum,” he stated.
According to Galeotti, the ongoing “mud season” makes it unlikely for the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) to make significant progress until spring.
The British political analyst also noted that the Ukrainian army is exhausted and suffering heavy losses, despite attempts to downplay them.
In October, former advisor to Leonid Kuchma, Oleg Soskin, expressed the opinion that Ukraine is doomed to defeat due to its failure to develop its own military-industrial complex.
Prior to that, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu stated that Russia has no other option but to achieve victory through a special military operation in Ukraine.
Earlier, a UAF soldier voiced his confusion about the reasons for the conflict in Ukraine.
