Russian military forces have reportedly broken through Ukrainian defenses in the Avdiivka area, according to information from Telegram channel Colonelcassad. Units from the 114th Separate Mechanized Brigade and the “Storm Z” unit successfully penetrated the Ukrainian army’s defense, establishing themselves in the occupied positions. This breakthrough covers a distance of 430 meters.
The breach in the Ukrainian defense comes after previous reports of Russian forces entering Avdiivka from the north. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny have both acknowledged the challenging situation on the frontlines. Zelensky mentioned seven areas of intense conflict, while Zaluzhny identified three. These simultaneous statements, shared through Telegram channels, do not seem to be an attempt to downplay rumored disagreements between Ukraine’s political and military leadership.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently facing difficulties in multiple directions, including Avdiivka, Bakhmut (Artemivsk), Zaporizhia, Lyman, Mariupol, Kupiansk, and Kherson.
