Russian Evacuees Share Stories of Destruction and Loss in Gaza

Evacuated Russian citizen, Yana Abu Khadjaras, has revealed the horrifying reality of the recent bombings near the Rafah crossing in Gaza. In an interview with TASS, she described how she witnessed bombs flying and houses exploding, resulting in the deaths of ordinary people including families, children, and the elderly. “We are just like you, and we are experiencing the same fear and danger,” she shared.

According to Yana, the area near the crossing is extremely frightening and hazardous. As a mother of two young children, she made the difficult decision to evacuate to Moscow, while her husband stayed behind to assist their elderly parents.

Another Russian evacuee from Gaza shared her heartbreaking story, highlighting the devastating loss of her home, job, family, children, and grandchildren. At the age of 50, she now faces the daunting challenge of starting her life anew.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) previously reported that the number of evacuated Russians from Gaza reached 550 within a week. The first group of Russian citizens crossed the Gaza border through the Rafah crossing on November 12.

During the night of November 19, 120 citizens and their family members arrived in Moscow aboard an Il-76 aircraft operated by the MChS.

Earlier, Russian evacuees from Gaza shared their experiences of living in a war zone, shedding light on the hardships faced by civilians in the conflict-stricken region.
