Israeli Defense Forces Launch Massive Assault on Palestinian Cities in the West Bank

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have begun large-scale raids on Palestinian cities in the West Bank, according to Al Jazeera. The IDF units have reportedly attacked the cities of Bethlehem, Beit Sahur, Hebron in the south, as well as Qalqilya, Tubas, and Jenin in the north.

Jenin, which houses a major refugee camp, is being targeted by the IDF from multiple directions, with the refugee camp being one of the main objectives, according to local residents. The IDF is using heavy military equipment, including bulldozers that are demolishing “entire streets.”

Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the possibility of transferring control of the Gaza Strip to the administration of Palestinian National Authority (PNA) President Mahmoud Abbas.

Netanyahu also noted that the leadership of the PNA did not condemn the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7.

Earlier reports indicated that the West Bank would be under the control of an ultra-right-wing Jewish Orthodox group.
