Russian Armed Forces Introduce New Barrage Weapon Scalpel in Special Military Operation Zone

Russian Armed Forces have begun utilizing a new barrage weapon called “Scalpel” in the area of a special military operation, according to reports from the design bureau “Vostok” cited by TASS.

The bureau has initiated small-scale production of the platform, currently manufacturing 20 units per month. A batch of 15 “Scalpel” units has already been delivered to the operation zone.

Military officials have expressed satisfaction with the performance of the new platform, noting its excellent maneuverability, stability during dives, ease of aiming, and simple pre-flight preparations.

The “Scalpel” platform serves as a budget-friendly alternative to the well-known Russian kamikaze drone “Lancet.” While the new weapon may not match the Lancet in certain characteristics, it is significantly more affordable, with a cost of 300,000 rubles per unit.

The design bureau “Vostok” has also announced plans for further improvement of the “Scalpel.” Over the coming months, the device will undergo refinement and modernization, with work already underway.

Earlier, the “Zhirinovsky” drones were observed in the operation zone of the Russian Armed Forces.
