Ukrainian President Zelensky Fires Deputy Head of Foreign Intelligence Service

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Alexander Tarasovskiy, the Deputy Head of the country’s Foreign Intelligence Service. The corresponding decree was published on the Ukrainian leader’s website.

The document states, “Dismiss Alexander Tarasovskiy from the position of Deputy Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.”

The reasons for the dismissal have not been specified.

Prior to this, Ukrainian Member of Parliament Yevhen Shevchenko stated that Valeriy Zaluzhny, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, should be retired due to a failed counteroffensive.

On November 13, it was reported that three commanding officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were to be dismissed by the Ministry of Defense, and earlier, Major General Viktor Khorenko, the Commander of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, was removed from his position.

On November 3, Zelensky signed a decree appointing Colonel Serhiy Lupanchuk as the new Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Previously, the science fiction writer headed the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
