Russian Forces Destroy Five Ukrainian Mortar Crews on Southern Donetsk Front

In a recent development on the conflict in Ukraine, the “Vostok” group of Russian military personnel has reportedly destroyed five Ukrainian mortar crews on the southern Donetsk front. This includes the destruction of a mobile mortar based on an American HUMVEE vehicle. Oleg Chekhov, the spokesperson for the group, confirmed this information to RIA Novosti.

Chekhov also mentioned that the “Vostok” units, with artillery support, successfully thwarted two attempts by Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU) to rotate their units in the areas of Novomykhailivka and Pryiutne. As a result, the enemy lost an armored combat vehicle, a pickup truck, and personnel.

Russian aviation and artillery targeted enemy positions and inflicted damage on personnel and equipment of the VSU in various areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). The self-propelled artillery system Krab and the towed howitzer FH70 were destroyed by barraging ammunition known as “Lancet.”

The enemy suffered up to 70 casualties, including deaths and injuries, as well as the loss of an electronic warfare station and two combat armored vehicles.

Prior to this, it was reported that the VSU had lost 175 fighters in the past 24 hours on the Krasnolymanske front. Russian military officials clarified that the forces of the “Tsentr” group successfully repelled an attack by the Azov Battalion (an organization banned in Russia) in this combat zone. Furthermore, the Russian Armed Forces inflicted damage on enemy personnel and equipment using army aviation and artillery fire.

In the United States, this development has been described as one of the greatest threats to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
