Russian Company Develops Remote Control Platform for Kalashnikov Tank Machine Gun

The Russian state corporation “Rostec” has announced that its subsidiary, “Radioelectronic Technologies Concern” (KRET), has successfully developed remote control platforms for the tank machine gun known as the Kalashnikov. These devices have already been received by Russian soldiers operating in the special operations zone, according to reports from TASS.

KRET stated, “We have developed and manufactured remote control platforms for the PKT tank machine gun.” The developers highlighted that the installed video cameras on the module allow for precise targeting. It is specified that four platforms have already been delivered to the special operations zone, with an additional five installations expected to be delivered by the end of the year.

According to Andrey Kocherga, the CEO of PAO “Signal,” the PKT control module enables observation and engagement of targets at distances ranging from 50 to 1100 meters. The device can also be equipped with a thermal imaging module and night vision device, if needed.

In mid-November, Rostec showcased its latest parachute systems at an exhibition in Dubai.
