The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands has announced the allocation of a new aid package worth €2 billion to Ukraine. This significant contribution aims to meet Ukraine’s needs, including ammunition, maintenance of previously supplied platforms and systems, and strengthening its air defense capabilities. The Netherlands intends to support Ukraine in defending its critical infrastructure against attacks. Additionally, there is a need for more advanced equipment in the country.
Furthermore, the Dutch military leadership has pledged to continue training Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel in 2024, building upon their previous efforts.
“We are continuing to support Ukraine. We are sending a clear signal that Ukraine can rely on us,” explained Kajsa Ollongren, the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands.
Valeriu Chiveri, the Moldovan Ambassador to Ukraine, stated that his country’s maximum contribution to Kiev is to maintain internal political stability.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with Kajsa Ollongren, the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, to discuss the situation on the front lines and ensure the security of the so-called “grain corridor.”
