A Houston woman who went missing for more than a week at Big Bend National Park in southwestern Texas has been found alive, according to officials from the National Park Service (NPS). Christy Perry, 25, rented a vehicle in Midland on November 8 and parked it at the Lost Mine Trailhead on November 9. However, she did not show up for her campground reservation on November 9, raising concerns about her whereabouts.
NPS authorities initiated a search and rescue mission for Perry and enlisted the help of Texas Game Wardens and their K-9 unit. The Lost Mine Trail was closed as efforts to locate the missing hiker intensified. Other hikers who may have seen Perry between November 8 and November 9 were urged to come forward with any information.
Fortunately, on Friday, Perry was found alive and is currently being transported to a hospital in Odessa, Texas.
