Russian Defense Ministry Claims 26 Ukrainian Drones Shot Down in Latest Clash

The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that Russian air defense systems have successfully shot down 26 Ukrainian drones in a span of 24 hours. This information was released in a summary report published on the defense ministry’s Telegram channel.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the drones were targeted in the areas of Kremenna in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR), Novoandriivka and Lipove in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR), as well as Mirne, Romanivske, and Pavlivka in the Zaporizhia Oblast. Additionally, two HIMARS rocket systems and one JDAM guided bomb, both of US origin, were intercepted.

The Ministry of Defense further stated that since the start of the operation, a total of 536 Ukrainian military aircraft, 254 helicopters, 8,960 UAVs, 441 anti-aircraft missile systems, 13,426 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,184 multiple launch rocket systems, 7,121 artillery and mortar pieces, as well as 15,312 units of special military automotive equipment have been destroyed.

Prior to this, the TASS news agency, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, reported that Russian air defense systems had destroyed five UAVs belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces that had attempted to attack Russian regions on the night of November 16.

On November 14, it was reported that a Ukrainian drone had attacked the unfinished Chemical Plant named after the 50th Anniversary of the USSR in the village of Seltso, Bryansk Oblast. According to media reports, the kamikaze drone crashed onto the roof of one of the workshops, causing damage in three places. It was clarified that the drone’s explosive device failed to detonate, and no injuries were reported.

Earlier, Russia had developed a new system for drone suppression.
