Russian Artillery Strikes Ukrainian Soldiers in Offensive Position

Russian military forces have successfully eliminated Ukrainian soldiers in an offensive position along the Krasnolimansk direction in the self-proclaimed separatist-held territory. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported this development, with the soldiers from the Central Military District operating the 82-millimeter mortar system, known as “Vasilek.”

According to official statements, the Russian mortar unit received coordinates of the Ukrainian military’s position, accurately targeted their attack, and unleashed a barrage of fragmentation mines, effectively neutralizing the enemy soldiers. The attack was closely monitored and guided by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

This incident follows the recent elimination of another offensive position in the same area by Russian forces. Motorized infantry units from the Central Military District discovered Ukrainian army positions, prompting a retaliatory strike using D-30 howitzers. As a result, the Ukrainian forces were forced to retreat and abandon their positions.

Additionally, it should be noted that earlier, Russian air defense forces successfully shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet in the region of Dnipropetrovsk.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has intensified, with both sides engaged in military operations and strategic maneuvers. The situation remains complex and volatile, with the potential for further escalation. The international community closely watches these developments, as tensions persist between Russia and Ukraine.
