Israeli Defense Forces Strike Back Against Rocket Launchers from Lebanon

In a recent development, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched a strike against individuals attempting to launch anti-tank rockets into Israel from Lebanese territory. This information was shared by the IDF in a post on their Telegram channel.

According to the Israeli defense ministry, “terrorists attempted a series of launches in the Misgav-Am area in northern Israel, as well as at IDF posts in the Metula and Yifta regions. No injuries have been reported. In response, IDF fighters carried out artillery fire on the sites of the attacks.”

Prior to this incident, the Israeli army had taken control of a harbor in the Gaza sector.

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated following the infiltration of thousands of Hamas militants from the Gaza sector into Israeli territory on October 7th, when Hamas announced the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country was in a state of war.

The objective of Israel’s counter-operation, named “Iron Swords,” is to defend against the attack, free over 200 hostages, including foreigners, and eliminate Hamas. As part of achieving this goal, Israel initiated massive rocket attacks on the Gaza sector from the first day of the operation. Additionally, the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the sector. Humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza began only after October 20th through the Rafah checkpoint, but the volume of aid is considered inadequate.

On October 27th, Israel announced the “expansion” of its ground operation in Gaza. The exact start date of this operation remains unknown; however, in anticipation, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have evacuated their homes and sought refuge in shelters and in the southern part of the enclave. As of November 5th, clashes are still ongoing in the center of Gaza, as the IDF has surrounded the city and cut off its supply lines.

Earlier, the possibility of Hezbollah’s involvement in the war was described as a “fatal mistake” in Israel.
