Israeli Army Urges Evacuation of Gaza Residents as Conflict Intensifies

In the midst of escalating tensions in the Middle East, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have issued an urgent call for residents in the northern Gaza Strip to evacuate to the southern part of the enclave via the Salah ad-Din road. This announcement was made by IDF spokesperson Avichay Adrai on the social media platform X.

The IDF has specifically called for the evacuation of residents in the areas of Tal al-Hawa, as-Sabra, az-Zaytun al-Garbi, ad-Daraj al-Tuffah, Ash-Shuja’iya, and Jabalia.

Additionally, the IDF has declared a four-hour pause in military operations in certain districts in the northern Palestinian enclave.

From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the military will temporarily halt its activities in Ash-Shuja’iya and Al-Turkman for humanitarian purposes. Adrai urged residents to take advantage of this time to relocate to other areas.

The situation in the region has worsened since thousands of Hamas militants infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip on October 7, initiating the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a state of war.

The objective of Israel’s retaliatory operation, named “Iron Swords,” is to repel the attack, free over 200 hostages, including foreigners, and dismantle Hamas. From the first day of the operation, Israel has carried out intense missile strikes on the Gaza Strip. Additionally, the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the enclave. Humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza only resumed through the Rafah crossing after October 20, but their volume is considered insufficient.

On October 27, Israel announced the “expansion” of its ground operation in Gaza. The exact start date of this operation remains unknown; however, in anticipation of it, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have fled their homes and sought refuge in shelters and in the southern part of the enclave. As of November 5, clashes are still ongoing in the center of Gaza, as the IDF has surrounded the city and cut off its supply lines.

Previously, a political analyst identified one of the reasons behind the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
