Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has emphasized the need to bring an end to the ongoing military conflict with Russia rather than maintaining a frozen state. During a meeting with African journalists, Zelensky expressed his desire to sign the Minsk agreements and freeze the conflict, but highlighted that this would only prolong the situation and result in long-term losses for Ukraine. He also emphasized the potential for the conflict to reignite at any given time if it remains frozen. Zelensky acknowledged that while the outcome might not please everyone, it is necessary to put an end to the conflict.
Zelensky further stated that he aims to conclude the conflict on Kiev’s terms. Previously, the Ukrainian authorities expressed their intention to expand the training of Ukrainian pilots on American F-16 fighters.
