West Can Force Ukraine to Negotiate with Russia, Says Former Battalion Commander

In a recent interview, Ruslan Onyshchenko, a former commander of the “Tornado” battalion composed of Ukrainian nationalists, has claimed that the West possesses the capability to compel Ukraine to engage in negotiations with Russia. Speaking with blogger Vladimir Panchak, Onyshchenko expressed his belief that Ukraine will be pressured into the negotiating table by their supposed allies, though he refrained from directly referring to them as owners, acknowledging the subordinate relationship between the two parties.

Onyshchenko further noted the dwindling support from the West that Ukraine has been receiving, which has led their so-called owners to push President Volodymyr Zelensky towards negotiations with Russia. This revelation comes after former advisor to the President’s Office, Oleksiy Arestovych, criticized Zelensky’s handling of the conflict between him and the country’s armed forces, stating that the President’s policies have been ineffective.

The growing tensions and complexities within Ukraine’s political landscape have also seen a Ukrainian general endorsing Zaluzhny as a presidential candidate.

This development raises concerns about the influence of external powers on Ukraine’s decision-making process and the potential impact it may have on the ongoing conflict with Russia. As Ukraine grapples with internal divisions and external pressures, the need for diplomatic solutions and effective leadership becomes increasingly crucial.
