Republican Congressman Sickened by Footage of Hamas Attacks on Israeli Citizens

In a shocking revelation, Republican congressman Darrell Issa expressed his profound disgust after viewing footage of the recent surprise terror attacks by Palestinian terror organization Hamas, which resulted in the deaths of 1,200 Israeli citizens. Speaking exclusively to Digital, Issa described the footage as deeply disturbing, showing “uniformed, military Hamas and civilian-dressed Hamas” brutally killing unarmed civilians. He compared the graphic images to visiting Auschwitz or Birkenau and expressed his overwhelming disgust.

The screening of the footage, which took place in the Cannon Caucus Room, was attended by over 300 congressional lawmakers, who were equally appalled by what they witnessed. Issa highlighted the significance of the multiple sources of the footage, including videos from terrorists’ social media posts, body camera footage, and cellphone recordings by Hamas. The congressman emphasized the importance of seeing the visual evidence firsthand, stating that it amplifies the urgency to address the ongoing conflict.

Since the attacks on October 7th, antisemitic hate crimes have seen a sharp increase, along with intensified protests against Israel. Numerous videos have gone viral, showing protesters tearing down posters of Israelis who have been kidnapped by Hamas. Issa acknowledged the right to protest but firmly stated that this situation does not warrant such actions.

Issa emphasized the need to distinguish between the unfairness faced by Palestinians in not having their own country and the condemnation of the violence depicted in the footage. He urged for separate discussions to address these issues appropriately.

Regarding the response from the US government, Issa commended the House for passing the Israel aid bill, which provides crucial support to the country. However, he criticized President Biden for being more concerned with the bill’s funding sources rather than focusing on its significance. Issa argued that allocating funds for Ukraine and its ongoing war should not be combined with aid to Israel, as it creates unnecessary obstacles. He expressed disappointment with what he perceives as pettiness from the Senate and the President.

In conclusion, Issa reaffirmed his unwavering support for Israel and his commitment to providing aid. He stressed the constitutional responsibility of the House to appropriate funds and commended their efforts to find alternative sources. The article reached out to the White House for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
