Record Number of Russians Improve Housing Conditions, Putin Reports

Moscow, November 14 – Approximately seven million Russians have improved their housing conditions this year, according to Vladimir Putin during a meeting with Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Irek Fayzullin. “In 2023, we have improved the housing conditions for seven million people. That’s 3.2 million families. We have resettled dilapidated housing with you, covering an area of 1.8 million square meters, benefiting 104,400 individuals,” said the president. He added that during the same period, 83.6 million square meters of housing have been completed. Fayzullin clarified that these are the current figures, and by the end of the year, the sector will demonstrate record-breaking results. Since January, a total of 49.7 million square meters have been introduced in the framework of individual housing construction, along with 33.9 million square meters of multi-apartment housing. The total forecast for the year is 104-105 million square meters. The minister explained that such a result would not have been possible without government support, including mortgage programs and urban planning potential. Discussing the reconstruction of facilities in new regions of Russia, Fayzullin emphasized that the work is progressing actively with the involvement of civil contracting organizations. As of today, nearly 8,400 objects have been restored, including multi-apartment buildings, social and cultural facilities, schools, and kindergartens.
