A shocking case has emerged in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where a middle school counselor has been accused of raping a 14-year-old student. Kelly Ann Schutte, 35, is facing serious charges including multiple counts of having intercourse or sexual contact with a student at school, corruption of minors, and indecent assault of a person under 16 years old.
According to court documents obtained by FOX 29 Philadelphia, Schutte allegedly initiated inappropriate contact with the student in her own home. The misconduct began during a class field trip in the fall of 2022 and continued when she would call the victim to her office during school hours. It has also been revealed that the suspect and victim used school apps like Canvas to communicate during the academic year, and later switched to messaging each other on Snapchat, a social media app known for its disappearing messages feature.
The alleged sexual conduct took place in various locations, including Schutte’s car outside a supermarket, her home, and even the victim’s home when his parents were away. The disturbing nature of these allegations has shocked the community and raised concerns about the safety and well-being of students.
In response to the allegations, Pennridge South Middle School placed Schutte on administrative leave in July 2023, after becoming aware of the misconduct. The school issued a statement emphasizing their strong stance against any inappropriate contact between staff members and students, stating that such behavior will not be tolerated.
The investigation into this case was prompted by the boy’s mother, who contacted law enforcement after suspecting that Schutte had kissed and inappropriately touched her son. The seriousness of the allegations has led to a thorough investigation, and the accused counselor now faces legal consequences for her actions.
Schutte’s attorney, William Joshua Buchanan of Buchanan Law, has chosen not to comment on the allegations at this time. As this case unfolds, it serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding students and maintaining a safe learning environment within schools.
