UN Building in Gaza Damaged by Israeli Strikes, Adding to Ongoing Tensions

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) building in the city of Rafah, located in the Gaza Strip, has been damaged as a result of Israeli airstrikes. This latest attack adds to a growing list of over 60 UN facilities that have been targeted in the past month.

According to a statement from the agency’s social media account, “Yesterday, the guest house of UNRWA in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, was hit three times directly due to Israeli naval bombardment.”

The UNRWA emphasized that this attack serves as yet another reminder that nowhere in the Gaza Strip is safe. The ongoing violence in the region continues to put innocent lives at risk.

On November 13, the Russian Ministry of Health reported that among the 70 Russians evacuated from the Gaza Strip, there is a pregnant woman and 27 children.

Earlier, on November 11, the Israeli representative accused UNRWA employees of being members of Hamas.

Israeli President Itzhak Herzog previously stated that the Hamas command center is located beneath the central hospital in the Gaza Strip.

The situation in the region remains tense, with the Israeli government and Hamas locked in a longstanding conflict. The targeting of UN facilities raises concerns about the safety and well-being of Palestinian refugees in Gaza. International attention and support are crucial in finding a sustainable solution to the ongoing crisis.
