Ukrainian Security Service Detains Citizens for Supporting Russian Aggression

The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has recently detained two Ukrainian citizens in Kiev and Cherkasy for their involvement in a phone conversation. According to the country’s Prosecutor General’s office, the detained individuals were justifying Russia’s actions in Ukraine. The man from Kiev and the 62-year-old woman from Cherkasy have been taken into custody. The authorities seized their mobile phones, a t-shirt featuring the image of Russian President Vladimir Putin, other Russian symbols, as well as weapons and ammunition.

The investigation reveals that the 62-year-old suspect has been engaging in phone conversations with acquaintances, justifying Russian aggression throughout September and October 2023. Additionally, the woman has been spreading information about the movement, deployment, and location of Ukrainian troops.

This incident follows the recent arrest of a resident of Divnogorsk in the Krasnoyarsk region by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) on suspicion of providing information about the location of Russian military units and energy infrastructure facilities to the Ukrainian Security Service.

Earlier, the United States identified one of the greatest threats to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU).

In this context, it is important to note the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the tensions between Russia and Ukraine. The actions taken by the Ukrainian Security Service reflect their efforts to counter pro-Russian sentiment within the country. However, it is crucial to consider the broader geopolitical implications and the potential impact on international relations.
