At the Dubai Airshow-2023, the aerospace defense corporation “Almaz-Antey” will showcase the latest models of its medium-range surface-to-air missile system (SAM) S-350E “Vityaz” and the medium-range SAM complex “Viking.” According to the company’s press service, this was reported by RIA Novosti.
The S-350E “Vityaz” SAM, with a range of up to 120 km, is designed to defend administrative, industrial, and military facilities against massive aerial attacks. The SAM system can operate autonomously or under the control of higher-level command posts.
On the other hand, the “Viking” SAM complex is designed to defend troops and objects and is capable of destroying tactical and strategic aircraft, helicopters, tactical ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles. The complex can effectively carry out its tasks in the face of electronic and fire countermeasures. It can be deployed on both tracked and wheeled platforms.
Previously, it was reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation used a guided missile with an active homing head from the S-400 SAM system in the conflict in Ukraine.
Earlier, Russia has also developed a new drone suppression system.
