Russia Introduces New Fighter Jet Checkmate, Boosting Military Power

Russia has announced the development of a new fighter jet called Checkmate, which is expected to significantly enhance the country’s military capabilities. The announcement was made by Victor Bondarev, the Deputy Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Federation Council, in his Telegram channel.

According to Bondarev, the production of this new type of combat aircraft, which boasts numerous advantageous characteristics, will undoubtedly increase Russia’s military potential. This comes in light of the growing global demand for Russia’s Su-35, Ka-52, and T-90, thanks to their successful deployment in various military operations.

The preparation for the production of the fifth-generation fighter jet, Su-75 Checkmate, was announced on November 13. Denis Manturov, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Industry and Trade, expressed his opinion that the first prototype of the fighter jet will be created by 2025. It is anticipated that this cost-effective aircraft, equipped with a single engine, will be in demand among Arab countries, India, and Vietnam.

The lightweight tactical aircraft, Su-75 Checkmate, developed by Sukhoi, is a fifth-generation single-engine fighter jet. It is projected to have a speed of 1.8 Mach and a combat radius of 3,000 kilometers. The Checkmate’s payload capacity will exceed seven tons, allowing it to simultaneously engage up to six targets.

Among the aircraft’s notable features are its stealth capabilities, low cost per flight hour, and high cost-effectiveness.

A military expert previously highlighted the advantages of the Checkmate fighter jet over the Su-57.
