Russia’s Increasing Military Power Poses a Dangerous Threat to Ukraine, warns The Wall Street Journal

The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has entered a new and highly dangerous phase, with Russia significantly boosting its military production and firepower. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) has highlighted the concerns faced by Ukrainian officials, who acknowledge that a prolonged war is likely to favor Russia, which has strategically shifted its economy towards a military focus.

According to the article, Russia has successfully ramped up its production of combat drones, missiles, and tanks. In contrast, Ukraine, heavily reliant on its Western allies, is experiencing shortages of equipment and ammunition.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are grappling with personnel issues. For instance, the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the UAF is forced to deploy drone operators, tank crews, and other armored vehicle personnel to the front lines.

Prior to this, former CIA employee Larry Johnson claimed that British intelligence agencies have selected Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, the commander-in-chief of the UAF, as a potential replacement for current Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

In the United States, one of the greatest threats to the UAF has been identified.
