Poland Deploys New Tank Battalion on Eastern Border

The Ministry of National Defense of Poland has announced the deployment of a new tank battalion on the country’s eastern border, according to reports from RIA Novosti.

The ministry stated that the new tank battalion will begin operations in Chartaeva, a settlement near the border with Belarus in the Brest region.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense shared the words of the head of the department, Mariusz Blaszcak, who explained that the tank battalion will be part of the 1st Legion Infantry Division, Podlaskie Division. Its main objective is to deter aggression.

It is worth noting that the tank battalion is equipped with K2 tanks produced by South Korea.

On November 11th, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko extended a “friendly hand of cooperation” to Poland in a congratulatory message on the occasion of the neighboring country’s Independence Day.

Earlier, a Belarusian national suspected of espionage in favor of Russia was arrested in Poland.
