Russian Defense Minister Awards Troops for Successful Operation in Ukraine

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has presented state awards to the fighters of the motorized rifle platoon of the “Dnepr” task force. This information was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

It is reported that on November 9, the platoon, under the command of Senior Lieutenant Zolto Arsalanov, prevented an attempt by the 36th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to establish a foothold on the left bank of the Dnieper River. It is said that the majority of the Ukrainian paratroopers were eliminated, and 11 Ukrainian soldiers were captured.

Prior to this, ten pilots from the Baltic Fleet received Nesterov medals for their heroism in the Eastern Military District.

The award ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Baltic Fleet, Vice-Admiral Vladimir Vorobyev, who thanked the pilots “for their selfless military work and high professionalism demonstrated in the performance of their military duty.”

On November 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that five attempts to land Ukrainian paratroopers on the left bank of the Dnieper had been prevented in the Kherson direction.

According to the Ministry of Defense, as a result of the military operations, the enemy’s daily losses amounted to up to 130 fighters. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also lost three vehicles.

Earlier, the Kremlin assessed the risk of increased attacks on Russian infrastructure by winter.
