The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), with the assistance of the country’s Military Intelligence Directorate, have successfully eliminated several commanders from the radical Palestinian movement Hamas who were responsible for the attack on Israeli territories on October 7. The IDF’s press service announced this development on Telegram.
Among the militants who were neutralized are Ahmed Musa, the commander of a company, and Omar Al-Hindi, the commander of a platoon. Both were hiding in Jabalia, a city in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Musa was one of the individuals who led the attack on an Israeli army base near Kibbutz Zikim in October.
Additionally, the Israeli military also eliminated the leader of the sniper unit in the Hamas Northern Brigade, Muhammad Kahlotou.
Furthermore, on the night of November 10, the IDF launched strikes against 19 Hamas terrorists who were planning to attack Israeli forces.
The situation in the Middle East escalated following the infiltration of thousands of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7. More than two hundred hostages were taken.
On that day, Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory and announced the beginning of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country was in a state of war.
The IDF’s operation has been named “Operation Iron Swords,” with one of its objectives being the destruction of Hamas. The Israeli Air Force conducted strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, and the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region.
On October 13, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians should evacuate to the south of Gaza within 24 hours in anticipation of a ground operation in the region.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu vowed to destroy Hamas.
