A tragic incident unfolded in Florida when a man allegedly gunned down his ex-girlfriend just hours after she filed a police report against him for stalking her. The shocking incident left family members horrified as they listened to the victim’s last moments over the phone. The accused, Robens Cesar, 41, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 34-year-old Fridelene Daniel.
According to police reports, Cesar confessed during an interview with detectives that he couldn’t bear to see Fridelene with another man and was trying to convince her to reconcile with him. He revealed that Fridelene’s decision to report him to the police earlier in the day was the final straw that led him to commit the heinous act.
Prior to the shooting, Fridelene had lodged a complaint with the Boynton Police Department, accusing her ex-boyfriend of stalking and harassment. Approximately 40 minutes later, witnesses dialed 911 after hearing gunshots. Police arrived at the scene and found Fridelene with multiple gunshot wounds. Several spent shell casings were discovered near her body.
Witnesses informed authorities that they saw the shooter fleeing the scene in a black Honda. The suspect, identified as Cesar, was captured on surveillance footage wearing a blue-gray tee shirt, green shorts, and sporting dreadlocks pulled back into a ponytail. He was apprehended at his residence, located about four miles away from the crime scene.
Heartbreaking details emerged as Fridelene’s family revealed that she was speaking to a relative in Haiti just moments before the shooting. Allegedly, the relative overheard Fridelene say, “Oh, did you bring a gun to kill me?” before the sounds of gunfire erupted. Neighbors also reported hearing a series of shots fired.
Cesar now remains locked away in Palm Beach County Jail without bond. The community is left in shock and mourning over the loss of Fridelene, a young woman whose life was tragically cut short. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
