In a recent training exercise at the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) in Hawaii, the US military utilized a mock-up of a Russian T-72 tank, according to a report by the military internet journal Defence Blog.
The publication states that American soldiers used the mock-up on the chassis of a Humvee, equipped with a lightweight framework, fabric coverings, and inflatable elements. Additionally, the replica armored vehicle was fitted with a rotating turret.
“These elements create a visual characteristic and silhouette that closely resemble the Russian T-72 tank,” the article states.
The model was equipped with the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES), which records simulated hits during training exercises, the publication explains.
