In a recent interview with “Lenta.ru,” Alexey Chepa, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, stated that the dropping of cluster bombs from Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) onto Russian regions is a desperate act by Ukraine. Chepa reminded that Ukraine’s allies had previously assured that these cluster bombs would not be used by Ukrainian forces on the territory of the Russian Federation, emphasizing that they were solely for defensive purposes.
“Nevertheless, all of this is being used against Russia. It is further confirmation of the deceitful policies being conducted by the collective West in Ukraine,” Chepa said.
He added that as the situation deteriorates within the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, there will be an increase in provocations towards Russia, including in order to gain attention from the West.
Earlier, Roman Starovoit, the head of the Kursk region, reported that Ukrainian drones had begun dropping cluster bombs onto Russian regions.
