The spokesperson for the “Vostok” group, Oleg Chekhov, has announced that Russian military forces in the southern Donetsk region have successfully thwarted eight rotations of Ukrainian Armed Forces. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.
Chekhov also highlighted that during these attempts, the enemy’s equipment and personnel were destroyed.
“Units of the ‘Vostok’ forces in the southern Donetsk region, with the support of artillery, have prevented eight attempts of troop rotations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in positions near Novomykhailivka, north of Mykolaivka, Urozhayne, and Staromykhailivka,” Chekhov said.
Previously, acting Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, reported on his Telegram channel that the situation in the Artemivsk direction remains intense. He noted that the city of Artemivsk has been subjected to indiscriminate shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
On August 21, Pushilin reported that the Russian Armed Forces had taken control of three key positions previously held by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Avdiivka direction. He also stated that there have been no significant changes observed in the Maryinka direction. According to the acting head of the DPR, the southern Donetsk direction is the most volatile.
Earlier, a retired Czech army general highlighted the main mistakes made by Ukraine during their counteroffensive.
