Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Rejects Ceasefire, Vows to Defeat Hamas

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated his refusal to agree to a ceasefire with Hamas, stating that such an agreement would equate to surrendering to terror and the victory of Iran’s axis of terror. In an exclusive interview with Chief Political Anchor Bret Baier, Netanyahu emphasized the importance of securing the release of Israeli hostages before considering any cessation of hostilities.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been intensively targeting Hamas in an effort to eliminate the terrorist group’s operations in the Gaza Strip. However, calls for a ceasefire persist, with concerns raised over the rising death toll and humanitarian crisis. The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry has reported over 10,000 deaths and numerous injuries, although critics argue that the ministry does not differentiate between civilians and combatants in its counts.

Netanyahu defended the IDF’s actions, asserting that they are taking measures to minimize civilian casualties. He highlighted the creation of safe zones and safe corridors for civilians to evacuate, despite Hamas attempting to keep them in the conflict zone. The Israeli Prime Minister also commended the support from the U.S. Congress and President Biden, acknowledging their crucial role in the success of the IDF operations.

While Netanyahu expressed gratitude for the broad support, he addressed the controversy surrounding Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who faced censure for her comments related to the explosion at the al-Ahli Arab Hospital and her refusal to apologize for using what many believe to be a call for the elimination of Israel. Netanyahu commended the Congress for censuring Tlaib, stating that her language amounted to a call for Palestine and genocide, which he deemed absurd.

Protests both in the United States and around the world have erupted with demonstrators aligning themselves with Hamas. Netanyahu acknowledged that while some participants may be naive, many are well aware of the anti-Israel sentiments they express. He emphasized the need to protect not only Israeli lives but also the future of the country from those who align themselves with Hamas, whom he previously referred to as the “new Nazis.”

Looking ahead, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel’s goal is not to govern Gaza but to secure a better future for both Israel and the entire Middle East. He stressed the importance of defeating Hamas and outlined the steps being taken to achieve this goal while minimizing civilian casualties.
