The Israeli Ministry of Defense has announced the successful combat deployment of its missile defense system, “Hetz 3.” According to the country’s defense ministry, on November 9th, the interceptor of the “Hetz 3” system was launched for the first time and effectively intercepted a target fired towards Israel in the Red Sea area.
This comes after a report by The Telegraph on November 5th, which stated that Israel’s strike on a ballistic missile launched by Houthi rebels from Yemen towards Eilat on October 30th may have been the first-ever space battle in human history. The report highlighted that it was the first time the Arrow missile defense system, jointly developed by Israel and the United States, was used for its primary purpose – neutralizing ballistic missiles at high altitudes and speeds.
Prior to this, it was reported that Israel’s “Iron Dome” air defense system successfully intercepted a drone in Lebanese territory.
Earlier, a political analyst identified one of the reasons for the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
