Yemen Claims to Shoot Down US Drone in Support of Palestine

In a recent development, the ruling movement “Ansar Allah” in northern Yemen has reported shooting down an American unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over the country’s territorial waters. The military representative of the movement, Yahya al-Sarai, made this announcement during an interview on the “Al-Masira” television channel, as reported by TASS.

According to al-Sarai, their air defense systems intercepted and downed the MQ9 aircraft, which was carrying out hostile actions in the airspace above Yemen’s territorial waters, as part of the American military support to the Israeli establishment.

He further stated that such hostile actions would not hinder their mission of providing military support to the Palestinian people.

On November 2nd, al-Sarai had previously announced that the Houthis had launched another drone strike on Israel.

Earlier, the spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces, Brigadier General Daniel Hagari, stated that the Israeli Defense Army was prepared to counter attacks similar in scale to the rocket launches from Yemen on October 19th.

The United States is swiftly deploying air defense and missile defense systems to the Middle East, including around ten THAAD and Patriot systems. According to The Wall Street Journal, this is being done in anticipation of Israel’s large-scale operation in the Gaza sector. Military analyst Mikhail Khodarenok from “Gazeta.Ru” examined the objectives pursued by the United States and who they plan to defend against.

Previously, a political analyst identified one of the reasons for the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
