President Vladimir Putin of Russia has signed decrees granting the rank of general to 44 officers in the country’s internal affairs and armed forces. The corresponding documents have been published on the official legal information portal.
The list titled “On the Conferment of Military Ranks to Senior Officers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation” includes 15 surnames. The rank of Lieutenant General has been granted to three military servicemen, while Major General has been conferred upon 11.
The decree titled “On the Conferment of Special Titles to Senior Command Staff of the Russian Internal Affairs” lists 29 individuals. The rank of Police Lieutenant General has been conferred upon six employees, while Police Major General has been granted to 21, and Major General of the Internal Service and Major General of Justice have been given to one person each.
On September 7, Putin granted the title of Lieutenant General to Andrei Mordvichev, the commander of the Russian troops’ “Center” group in the Eastern Military District. Prior to this, Mordvichev held the rank of Major General. Before being appointed as the commander of the Central Military District, he led the Eighth Guards Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District.
In August, Putin conferred the rank of Major General of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs to Magomed Daudov, the chairman of the parliament of the Chechen Republic.
On September 11, Putin signed a decree conferring the title of “City of Labor Valor” to ten settlements. The honorary title has been granted to the cities of Vladimir, Votkinsk, Nakhodka, Novomoskovsk, Podolsk, Prokopyevsk, Rubtsovsk, Ryazan, Ulan-Ude, and Khanty-Mansiysk.
Previously, Putin awarded the President of Kyrgyzstan with the Order of Honor.
