Russian arms manufacturer Kalashnikov Concern is preparing to showcase its latest unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the coming year. The drones, currently undergoing testing in a conflict zone, will soon be revealed to the public, according to a statement from state corporation Rostec. The specific models produced by Kalashnikov’s unmanned division and the date of their public demonstration will be announced at a later date. It is expected that the new drones will be showcased during the upcoming International Military-Technical Forum “Army-2024.”
The integration of FPV drones into the armament complex of light-armored vehicles is also being planned by Rostec’s Precision Complexes holding. This move signifies the company’s focus on advancing its unmanned technology capabilities.
Russian military forces have already demonstrated the effectiveness of unmanned aerial vehicles in combat situations. The BOBR unmanned squadron, which was among the first to employ FPV drones during special military operations in Ukraine, achieved significant success. Over the course of a year, the squadron managed to disable and destroy over 100 enemy military vehicles and approximately a battalion of enemy personnel.
The utilization of FPV drones has provided Russia with a strategic advantage in warfare. Ukrainian military officials have acknowledged the superior capabilities of Russian forces in this regard.
