Hezbollah, the Shia organization based in Lebanon, has launched attacks on two infantry units of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). This development comes in response to the IDF’s strike on an ambulance in southern Lebanon. Reports from the organization indicate that the strikes were precise and targeted.
The first strike occurred near the Shomer army base, where Hezbollah targeted an Israeli infantry unit. In addition, the Shia movement announced a retaliatory strike against IDF infantry units near the Doviv barracks. The attack was provoked by the IDF’s strike on an ambulance in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah claims that its retaliatory strikes hit their targets accurately and precisely.
Prior to these attacks, the IDF conducted airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon in response to shelling from the Lebanese side. The targets included weapons depots, launch sites, and infrastructure belonging to the organization’s command structure.
Israeli officials have previously described Hezbollah’s potential involvement in a war as a “fatal mistake.”
