Georgia High School Teacher Arrested in Connection with 2-Year-Old’s Murder

A high school teacher in Georgia has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 2-year-old child in 2020. Kianna Davis, 32, has been charged alongside Kiyon Devoy Benton with multiple offenses, including malice murder, felony murder, cruelty to children in the first degree, aggravated assault, and more, according to FOX 5.

The indictment alleges that Davis and Benton murdered 2-year-old Karter Ambrose by striking him with a blunt object between November 15 and 17, 2020, resulting in a lacerated liver. The arrest of Davis was made by the Houston County District Attorney’s Office, U.S. Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force, and the Warner Robins Police Department.

Davis, who is listed as a teacher at Seckinger High School in Buford, Georgia on LinkedIn, has prompted an investigation by the school. Principal Jimmy Fisher sent a letter to families, assuring them that the situation is being looked into and that a substitute teacher will cover the duties of the accused teacher for the time being.

“While this news may come as a surprise and raise questions, I want to reassure you that your student is in good hands,” Fisher said. “As your principal, I am committed to fostering a safe and positive school environment and encourage our school community to come to me when you have concerns.”

A plea and bond hearing for Davis and Benton is scheduled for Thursday.
