Allegations of Georgian Saboteurs in Abkhazia Not Confirmed, Says Ministry of Internal Affairs

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia has stated that there is no confirmation of information regarding the infiltration of a group of Georgian saboteurs into the territory of the republic. This statement comes in response to reports from Sputnik Abkhazia, which cited data obtained from the ministry.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia, there is currently no evidence to support the claims of saboteur infiltration into the republic.

Earlier, the Solovyov.Live TV channel, citing a source in the Ministry of Defense of Abkhazia, reported that a sabotage group from Georgia, consisting of up to 50 individuals, had entered Abkhazia.

According to the source, the objective of the saboteurs’ mission is to carry out a terrorist attack against the Sukhumi airport.

In response, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia, Robert Kiut, informed TASS that hunters had spotted seven armed individuals without any identifying insignia near the village of Azanta in the Gagra district of the republic. According to the minister, they were armed with foreign weapons, presumably M-4 rifles, dressed in black uniforms, masks, helmets, and were well-equipped. Additionally, they had a drone flying over the area.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs deemed Nikol Pashinyan’s statements about Russia to be unacceptable.
