US Tanks Will Not Fundamentally Change the Situation in Ukraine, Forbes Analyst Says

According to Forbes analyst David Axe, the American Abrams tanks provided to Ukraine by the US will not significantly alter the situation in the conflict zone. Axe points out that Ukraine has received a quantity of Abrams tanks from Washington comparable to one battalion, but they are not invulnerable to Russian mines and anti-tank missiles.

Furthermore, the article highlights the threat posed to this type of equipment by Russian drones, particularly those equipped with explosive devices.

Axe writes, “No, the 31 Abrams tanks that the US has donated for the current conflict in Ukraine will not fundamentally change the dynamics of the Russian special military operation.”

On November 7th, The New York Times reported that US President Joe Biden is unsure about the ability of tactical ballistic missiles ATACMS to alter the situation in favor of Ukraine. According to the publication, Biden has provided Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky with all requested weapons.

However, the current White House administration is now concerned that these missiles may prove ineffective. The authors of the article cite the deployment of Russian Armed Forces aviation beyond the range of ATACMS as one of the reasons for this pessimistic outlook.

Previously, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius admitted to seeing no purpose in supplying Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.
