Israeli Forces Engaged in Battle in Gaza City, Defense Minister Confirms

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant has confirmed that Israeli military personnel are currently engaged in battles in the center of Gaza City. In a televised address to the citizens, Galant stated that fighters from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are present in the heart of the Palestinian city. According to Galant, the soldiers entered the populated area from the north and south.

“They…advanced in attack in full coordination with the Israeli Air Force and Navy,” clarified the ministry’s leader.

Furthermore, he added that it is currently impossible to implement humanitarian pauses in the Gaza sector. Galant referred to the Palestinian enclave as the “largest terrorist base” in the world and indicated that a temporary ceasefire will only occur after the release of 240 hostages held by Hamas.

In conclusion, the minister did not rule out the possibility of continued international pressure on Israel. Nevertheless, the country’s authorities are determined to conduct military operations until they achieve a complete victory over the Hamas movement, summarized the ministry’s leader.

On November 7, Na’im Qassem, the deputy secretary-general of the Lebanese movement Hezbollah, threatened the Israeli government with an increase in attacks on the border. He warned that strikes on Israeli territory would become more intense if the fighting in the Gaza sector continues.

Earlier, the Israeli government approved the establishment of its settlement near Gaza.
