Israeli Defense Forces Reveal Unusual Rocket on Apache Helicopter Amid Escalating Conflict

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have released a photo of an AH-64D Apache helicopter with an unidentified missile, according to The Drive. The missile in question is an AGM-114 Hellfire, typically marked with three yellow stripes, but the one featured in the photo has a red stripe in the middle. A subsequent photo was released, showing the same missile with two yellow stripes.

Speculation suggests that the helicopter was carrying an incendiary projectile, possibly with a thermobaric warhead. This type of ammunition releases an aerosolized flammable substance upon impact before detonating, making it effective for destroying tunnels or other underground structures.

Prior to this, an Israeli minister had issued a threat to drop a nuclear bomb on Gaza, later dismissing it as a metaphor.

The situation in the Middle East has escalated following the infiltration of thousands of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7th. Over two hundred hostages were taken.

On that day, Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, announcing the start of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared the country to be in a state of war.

The IDF’s operation, named “Iron Swords,” aims to destroy Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has carried out strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli National Security Council has decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region.

Earlier, Prime Minister Netanyahu vowed to annihilate Hamas.
