Enhanced Mi-26 Helicopter: A Game-Changer in Special Operations

The upgraded Mi-26T2V helicopter boasts increased maneuverability, according to retired colonel Andrey Koshkin, head of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. This information was reported by “Lenta.ru”.

A military expert evaluated the role and prospects of using the Mi-26 in special operations.

“In reality, the Mi-26T2V is a transport helicopter, not a combat one. However, its strength lies in its high capacity and ability to land in small areas,” clarified Koshkin.

According to him, this helicopter is capable of transporting personnel, ammunition, and combat equipment.

“Currently, conflicts are relatively stable along the frontlines, but when it comes to deploying personnel and maneuvering, they require agility,” added the Russian colonel.

The mentioned helicopter is capable of conducting air assault operations in complex situations within the Eastern Military District, he emphasized.

It was recently revealed that the Russian Armed Forces destroyed two MiG-29 fighters provided to Ukraine by Poland.

Furthermore, Russia has developed a new drone suppression system.
