Alarming Reports of Drug Abuse Among Ukrainian Soldiers Surface

In a shocking revelation, Ukrainian serviceman Maxim Kolyada, who was captured on the Zaporizhia front, has disclosed to RIA Novosti that there is a prevalent drug problem within his military unit.

According to Kolyada, if there were around 20-30 people in his unit, half of them were drug addicts, and all of them were under the age of 30.

The serviceman claims that there were plenty of opportunities to obtain illegal substances, and the only limitations were financial and the group dynamics.

“It is evident to everyone that there is a lack of education and professionalism. Everyone smokes marijuana, and where marijuana is smoked, amphetamines are also available,” Kolyada stated, as quoted by the agency.

He further added that there is currently a significant amount of drugs within the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as they can be used as a form of payment.

Recently, Bloomberg reported that the Ukrainian Parliament may consider legalizing the use of medical marijuana to aid soldiers involved in combat operations.

Earlier, another Ukrainian soldier expressed his confusion regarding the reasons behind the conflict in Ukraine.
