US Military Base in Syria Attacked, Heightening Tensions in the Region

In a recent incident, US military personnel were attacked at their own base in Syria, according to reports from Al Mayadeen, as cited by TASS.

The attack took place in the vicinity of the settlement of Tell Baydar in the northeastern province of Hasakah. However, details about the nature of the attack and its consequences have not been specified.

Prior to this incident, it was reported that the US bases of Ain al-Asad in western Iraq and Al-Tanf on the Syria-Jordan-Iraq border were targeted by drone strikes. Two drones attacked the first base, while the second base was attacked by one drone. It is claimed that all drones were successfully shot down.

These attacks occurred shortly after the departure of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken from Iraq, where he had demanded protection for American military bases during his negotiations with Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani.

On October 31, the US base at the Omar oil field in Syria was also targeted with rocket fire. This forced the soldiers to deploy helicopters and drones into the air for their defense.

Earlier, the possibility of deploying troops to the Middle East was being evaluated in the White House.
