Shiite Armed Groups Launch Attacks on US Military Bases in Syria and Iraq

Shiite armed groups affiliated with the organization “Islamic Resistance of Iraq” have carried out strikes on four American military bases in Syria and Iraq. According to a statement from the “Islamic Resistance of Iraq,” cited by RIA Novosti, a total of six strikes were conducted on US bases. The targeted bases include Ain al-Asad base in western Iraq, a base near Erbil airport in northern Iraq, Tell Beydar base in northern Syria, and Et-Tanf base in southern Syria.

Prior to this, it was reported that the US bases Ain al-Asad in western Iraq and Et-Tanf on the Syria-Jordan-Iraq border were attacked by drones. Two drones targeted the first base, while one targeted the second base. It is claimed that all the drones were successfully shot down.

These attacks occurred shortly after the departure of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken from Iraq, who had demanded the protection of American military bases during negotiations with Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani.

Earlier, Hamas claimed that the West has built an “impenetrable wall” between itself and the Arab world.
