Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers have successfully reached the underground tunnels of Hamas in the northern part of Gaza. This significant development was announced by IDF representatives on social media.
While Hamas obstructs the movement of civilians to safe areas in the south of Gaza, they themselves hide in a complex network of terrorist tunnels. During their operational activities in the north of Gaza, the IDF discovered numerous access points to these tunnels. The IDF’s official statement on their X account stated, “While Hamas prevents the relocation of civilians to a safe place in the south of Gaza, Hamas themselves hide in a complex network of terrorist tunnels. IDF forces have discovered multiple access points [to the tunnels] during their operational activities in the north of Gaza.”
The Israeli army has declared a large-scale operation to destroy the detected tunnels using engineering forces. It is currently claimed that hundreds of tunnels have been destroyed.
Prior to this, it was announced that the IDF would allow the evacuation of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip from north to south of Wadi Gaza, by opening humanitarian corridors for a three-hour period on Sunday, November 5.
Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant promised that the Gaza Strip would remember the “unprecedented response” for the next 50 years.
